Ireland's first women-only rock climbing festival

Together with Mammut ambassador Maddy Cope, we produced this interview that found out more about Ireland's first women-only climbing festival and the motivations behind starting it

Located on the wild sea cliffs of The Burren in Ireland’s Co. Clare, Women’s Rock Festival is a women-only climbing festival that was set up by two locals to provide a place where women can learn more advanced climbing skills through workshops, talks, and the support of fellow passionate female climbers.

Launching this year on the 15th – 17th of July, we worked with Mammut, Mammut ambassador Maddy Cope – who was speaking at the event – and a local photographer on a written interview with organisers Freja Shannon and Anastasija Strizakova who provided more information about the festival and delved into a few of the issues surrounding climbing as woman.
